Paula Crown is a multimedia artist with a practice encompassing drawing, painting, video, and sculpture. Crown rigorously incorporates cutting-edge technology, social activism, collaboration, and a commitment to sustainability in her studio practice.
It all begins with a mark. A mark that is informed by where we are, what material we hold, and how we exist in the world. Mark making creates an index of experience, where sensory input is translated through the hand and art becomes thought manifested.
A powerful expression that has no true end. Instead, the potential to continue to evolve and inform the next gesture, iteration, and interpretation. Crown’s practice is an ongoing investigation of how ideas can exist in many forms, materials, and dimensions. This understanding allows for a process that remains fluid and evolving. It holds space for an openness to channel creativity, impact others, and extend the conversation.
When our senses are attuned to our ever-changing environment, we continually learn, expand, and begin again. This is the Atelic Way.

Solo Together
-
"My core belief is that art can be — and should be — everywhere. The spaces that art creates for seeing and for dialogue transcend the many things that might (and often do) divide us."
-
SOLO TOGETHER is a contemplation on the many imprints we make in the world, often unconsciously. While appreciating the uniqueness of each human mark, SOLO TOGETHER underscores the constraints of our interwoven ecosystem and our dependence on one another.
